1)     Introductions & Opening Comments – Blake Williams called the meeting to order @ 6:03 PM.

a)     Welcome and introductions

b)     Volunteers needed: Secretary, Grubmaster, Advancement assistant, Attendance, BOR/SMC coordinator

c)      Next month’s, June 6 Committee meeting begins at 5 pm, due to Mic-O-Say recommendations

 

2)     Leawood Lions – Gary Flick/Chick Atwell

a)     No Report

 

3)     Scoutmaster Update – Greg Spies

a)     Report

b)     Senior Patrol Leader – Matt Boresow

i)        Tomorrow’s meeting will have Safety afloat & meal planning

ii)      The following week work on chants for Bartle

iii)    Canoe campout next weekend

(1)   Attendance sign-ups at this point is light

 

4)     Outdoor Activities (Camping/Grubmaster) – Scott Brown/Matt Boresow/David Corley

a)     May 7-9, Canoe Campout

i)        Still looking for a driver for Troop Truck

 

b)     Jun 5-6, First Year Campout, Spies farm

i)        There will be weather

ii)      3 meals for 3 people

iii)    Pre-work for environmental science

iv)    Need older scouts to help

v)      next day is Mic-O-Say voting

 

5)     High Adventure update, Quintin Cokington

a)     Bob Rohlf will head Rocky Mountain High Adventure

 

6)     Bartle – Jim Cook – Update

a)     Adults attending Bartle meeting, May 26, 7 pm, Sharp’s farm

i)        138 Boys

ii)      Leadership team on track

iii)    90+ adults

iv)    Chasing down forms is primary focus right now

v)      Orientation for Mustang Parents was held this past Wednesday

 

7)     Equipment Coordinator – Chuck Gibson

a)     Update – no issues

 

8)     Membership – Todd Martz

a)     Recruiting update

b)     New Parent Orientation/Mentors – Jeff Muchow

i)        Positive feedback on new parent mentoring

 

9)     Advancement – Brent Reynolds

a)     Scout thru Life – Brent Reynolds

i)        We could use a lot of help with advancement at this weekend’s campout

 

b)     Eagle Candidates – Tracy Thomas

i)        Eight new eagles in troop – Eagle court past weekend

ii)      Two more roundtables before the summer break

iii)    Could have a very large court in the Fall

 

10) Scout Leadership/Training – Doug Ball/Julia Day – No report

 

11) Finance – John Martin - Treasurer’s report

a)     Cash +$20,000

b)     OA Campout +$1,100 positive balance – positive for the year

c)      AR $18,000

 

12) Community Service Projects – John Ahart

a)      Delano, July 2 - Need additional adult Support for this project – send Ahart an email

 

b)     Bike repair at Spofford house – meet @ 4:30 at the school

 

c)      Eagle Core  - Looking for additional Eagles for assistance here.  Talk with Jim Shetlar or Cokington

 

13) Honor Programs

a)     O/A  – Rob Baker

i)        Great weekend – 54 attendees – largest in counsel

(1)   Max Rohlf did an outstanding job assisting a handicapped scout prepare for the ordeal

(2)   COH in Spring – usually recognize C-Team members w/ Patch for OA sash

(3)   Also have new patch for veteran C-Team member

(a)   Recommend awarding a Beading sash for AO-Dancer

(i)     Motion to approve $100 for these service awards

(ii)   Motion seconded and approved by voice vote

 

b)     Mic-O-Say – Jim Wasko/Greg Spies/Bob Tenny

i)        Tribal celebration on 22nd

ii)      Herb Strain will be recognized

iii)    2 campouts left for scouts needing camping nights

iv)    Mic-O-Say vote next committee meeting

 

14)  Trailhead District Meeting – Scott Bower

a)      Adult Training – Scott Bower, Garrett Shropshire – No report

 

15) New Business/Open Discussion – All – 6:35PM

a)     Scout cooking @ camp outs was discussed with a recommendation developed and presented by Walt Andrews

i)        Committee conferred on recommendations

ii)      Agreement was that it was a little late in year to implement this year

iii)    Suggestion to consider for next year

iv)    Walt Andrews agreed to lead a sub committee on the topic

 

b)     Ron Wood – District report

 

c)      Discussion regarding CPR Safety Training in preparation for Bartle

i)        Suggestion for training on May 17th

(1)   Mid level scouts & adults going to camp
